Katherine Laura Cupps Anderson, who went by “Katie,” 47, died Dec. 12, in Joplin, Mo. She was born Oct. 1, 1955, in Sacramento, and lived in Monterey County for 21 years. She attended grade school and high school in Pacific Grove, and attended Notre Dame High School in Salinas. She also completed the nurse’s aide training program at the Pacific Grove Adult School. As a child, she was a member of the Girl Scouts in Pacific Grove. She enjoyed riding horses and was a natural golfer. She also enjoyed gardening, flowers and animals, and was devoted to her family. Mrs. Anderson is survived by her husband of 30 years, Charles Anderson of Joplin; two sons, Wesley and Paul, both of Joplin; her parents, Paul and Henrieta Cupps of Pacific Grove; a brother, Michael Cupps of Pacific Grove; a sister, Joan Ford of Monterey; and two grandchildren. Memorial services will be held at a later date. The family suggests that any memorial contributions be made to cancer research or Crones disease research.
