Forrest Alan Edwards

Forrest Alan “Al” Edwards of P.G. passed away May 26 at the age of 68. Al spent his early years in San Diego, then in his teen years moved to the Monterey Bay, where he spent the remainder of his life, graduating from P.G.H.S. in 1973. A man of diverse passions, Al will be lovingly remembered by his family, friends, and community. Al loved few things more than his son, Daniel, and fishing. The passion endured throughout his life, with Al spending countless hours on the Monterey Bay fishing for Salmon and other fish. He relished sharing this joy by teaching Daniel how to fish from an early age. Al’s son Daniel was the brightest light in his life. He spent many hours watching Daniel play baseball. In his later years, Al and Daniel worked together doing concrete. Al loved teaching Daniel, and cherished watching his achievements, and spending the time together. In his professional life, Al was a highly skilled airplane mechanic and concrete professional. His meticulous attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and strong work ethic drove his career until the very end. Al took immense pride in his craftsmanship, whether it was repairing an aircraft or constructing the perfect patio from bare ground. Beyond his career, Al was always willing to help family, friends, neighbors, and even strangers. He could repair just about anything, and often spent hours working on various home projects. Once he had an idea for a project in his mind, it had to be completed. Al is survived by his beloved son Daniel Edwards, daughter-in-law Ali Edwards, his brothers Danny and Ron Edwards, and numerous extended family members and friends. A celebration of Al’s life will be held on July 28, 2024, at 3:00 at 514 Park St. in P.G. All are welcome to share memories and stories of this remarkable man--a loving father, skilled tradesman, and avid fisherman whose spirit will be deeply missed yet forever cherished.
